The 76 m² apartment originally had an open plan, and its one distinctive feature, and drawback, was a single large window
spanning an entire wall. This made things more
difficult, as the brief called for an entrance hall,
bathroom, bedroom, dressing room, small study, living room and a kitchen with a dining area. We managed to fit all
of this in with a few small tricks and design techniques.
The shared area, with the kitchen and living room, is an open studio space, while the bedroom and study are divided by a sliding glass partition that lets daylight through.
The colour scheme is built on a pairing of powder pink and grey. The finishes are mostly fine natural
materials such as solid wood, marble and several veneers: bird's-eye veneer for the kitchen fronts and the living-room shelving, and acacia veneer for the kitchen table top. Bright details set the mood: a yellow armchair, a trio of curiously shaped side tables and a flamingo motif on the wallpaper. The result is a stylish, distinctive interior that reflects our client's personality.
